If you are currently training in a martial art or self defense, and your goal is to be able to survive a real world attack down and dirty in the street, then there is some difference – some principles that are absolutely necessary, positively, must know. These principles should be part of your training program, and …

… Should be embedded in every fiber of your being.

I wrote a lot of the principles and concepts. No matter if I made a presentation about self-defense, working life, or the development of the child, the idea is always the same:

Instead of focusing solely on the "how" of what you learn, make sure to understand why something works or how some should be done in a special way. In this way, you can see the value of all your technical skills and that you will understand "context" in which they are used.

Two important principles should be part of not only his own defense training, but part of his style of life and learning.

Principle # 1 – If you do not have to fight – NO!

In ancient manuscripts presented in the Takagi Yoshin Ryu, one of the nine martial lineages inherited b my teacher, which is contained in one of them the secret to winning every battle. Guess what?

I think you can be.

This …

"… Never get into a fight that can not win."

The sound is not solved. However, when was the last time you heard or seen demonstrated by a martial artist, or an expert called for self-defense?

When most teachers and programs to "talk" or refer to some ideas to avoid or escape, usually where it ends. There are 5 steps (not counting the three stages of post-attack) of a good plan, strong and effective self-defense program. Four of these lower floors for you to actually be able to avoid one or other types of evasion, or negotiate its way out of a bad situation with literally hundreds of options.

Physically manipulating an attacker always should be your last option only after exhausting other options.

Why?

Simply because it offers the greatest chance of something …

… FALSE go!

No matter how good you are …

… Whatever time have been training …

… What you know, or even …

… This type of weapon you have …

… There is always the possibility that something may and probably going to happen that this mess is in place.

Yes, I talk about Murphy's Law. And it applies to combat and self defense as much as anything else in your life.

The fact is …

1. You do not know when or where they will be attacked.

2. You do not know the attack.

3. You do not know who his attacker is or how it will face, and …

4. You do not know how far they are willing to go do damage.

So why wait to physical exertion in the face of so many unknowns?

You may have to get physical, but untreated choosing the less invasive measures first is just asking for the worst that can happen.

Principle # 2 – form will defend you – Make sure you have right!

He said that human beings are creatures of habit. The difference between the humans and the rest of the animal captured by "instinct" is that have the ability to change many of our responses to normal stimuli. This is not always easy and sometimes not even aware, but …

… The fact (and problem) is …

… Once you create or establish a set of habits, as animals can be caught as inferior.

What this?

This means that once you get into a program or begin to learn some moves "and strategies to defend themselves, to" invest "in this new perspective – the new reality.

And, while probably able to do very well with the skills they learn in the safety of the gym, this has nothing to do with how you will be able to produce real world results. Unless …

… The highest care has been taken to ensure that training matches so far possible, what happens in the real world.

Therefore, not only to ensure that you have chosen a teacher and a program that you can trust, but also that …

1. You practiced correctly. It was said that "practice makes perfect", but this is not true. "Perfect" Practice makes perfect. It's much better to practice proper technique three times incorrectly three hundred times. Remember that you are practicing to develop skills that will work "Automatically" when needed. Wrong skills automatically pop-up just as well, but …

2. Should develop skills be against the attacks that you are more likely to face. Virtually no one, including a martial arts training, karate chops at a real rate, the anger-based attack. Training against a school of their choice can be a great way to preserve historical techniques of an ancient tradition, but took no to prepare to pull such a powerful right cross!

3. Make sure that not only understand-cons favorite defensive technique to learn, but also the type of attack is designed to work against. Too many students and train teachers, what I call "martial arts Mathematics. "Here, like two plus two is always four, it is assumed that their techniques work against any attack.

It is not.

Just remember that you and only you are responsible for their own safety. And that responsibility begins much before any attacker before he appears. To be prepared, you need to know what you try to be ready.

Otherwise you will find many of my students who have spent years training in martial arts before training with me. Trained years to discover that they knew little about the real world self-defense.

And who wants to know that, for all his hard work, time and money …

… Not ready for everything?
